This site is named after one of the most beautiful movies
i ever saw. Stanley Kubrick's 'Barry Lyndon' from 1975.
This movie picture is filmed like a follow-up of paintings. From the first opening
scene on, which you can see as second on the left, the
photography, the colors, the atmosphere, ... are
astonishing. From the first seconds you are back in the 18th
century. Kubrick's put it's audience in a kind of
romantic but dramatic trance. It's remarkable how such a
slow movie keeps you emotional on the edge for the whole 175
minutes length. If they could have made movies in the 18th
century, they would have done it this way and not with a
21st century mentality as you see mostly these days on the
silverscreen. The music of Schubert and Handel complete this
master piece. Sarabande of Handel was used a few years ago
in a Nike commercial, probably cause it's has such a
strength and energy.
This site is an homage and personal selection of movies
which had an impact on myself, and maybe even has influenced
a part of my personality. It's just a small selection of my
favorite movies. You can see a lot of trailers which you can
find easily on sites as You Tube. Many thanks to all the
movie lovers on those sites which keep those movies alive
and helps other generations to discover some all time
beauties.
